Infineum offers a wide selection of heavy duty diesel lubricant additives under the Infineum D Series brand name. Our heavy duty diesel additives allow lubricants to be formulated across the full range of performance levels, up to and including the latest API, ACEA, JAMA and OEM specifications. These claims can be met in a variety of base stock and viscosity modifier combinations, optimized to meet specific customer requirements.

Infineum additive packages are formulated using a variety of components. The particular selection of components used will depend on the final application. In the heavy duty diesel area dispersant and detergent additives are particularly important for the effective dispersion of soot in oil, the neutralization of acidic combustion by-products and to deliver extended drain capability.

Performance Claims and Emissions Drivers

Modern engine hardware has evolved to meet the changing requirements of worldwide emission legislation. These hardware changes have required the introduction of particular lubricants to achieve optimal engine performance. The performance requirements of crankcase lubricants are captured with the API, ACEA, JAMA and global lubricant specifications, all of which have evolved to meet the changing lubricant requirements of modern engine hardware.

API CJ-4 represents a major quality upgrade in heavy duty diesel lubricant formulations. This new specification was developed to meet the increased demands of new lower-emission diesel engines equipped with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and diesel particulate filters (DPF). The Infineum D Series also delivers API CI-4 and API CI-4 PLUS performance with highly advanced additives to bring:
